In Flight Entertainment Unit

Problem
Even though the current entertainment units in flights are usable, they lack some functionality which are desired by users who are frequent flyers and spend a good amount of time using the entertainment unit. The objective of this class project for HCI Design methods course was to redesign the current in-flight entertainment unit to increase the desirability along with the usability of the product.

Tools
Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Invision

Process
1. User Research
We started with conducting surveys and interviews to gather a general opinion about the users' experience with the current inflight entertainment system. We interviewed four people who were made at least three flights in a year. Survey responses were also collected from 14 participants and analyzed.
2. Problem identification
After identifying the problem areas, we did scenario mapping for different tasks to identify more specific problems. This led us to defining the problem we chose to address - which is less desirability of the in-flight entertainment system.
Scenario Mapping
3. Low Fidelity Prototyping
Low fidelity prototypes were made using paper and were evaluated using heuristic evaluation and cognitive walkthroughs.
4. High Fidelity Prototyping and User Testing
High fidelity prototypes were made using Invision, Adobe Photoshop and Sketch. The prototypes were evaluated by user testing with three users.
